night club logo illustration

so this was for a night-club logo for a graphic designer friend of mine.. it’s anime themed apparently..? the brief was to just make it as stereotypical anime/manga-like, keep in the orangey colour range and have good contrast with black (for possible embossing and i don’t know what else)..

the illustration is supposed to go inside the typography and all sorts of fancy stuff was supposed to be done to it (if it get’s approved). the typography is kinda spaced funny, and primarily white hence the weird dimensions, the black background (to make it pop out) and composition in general..

spent twice the normal amount of time on this because mid-way through i pulled a stupid and started comparing what i was doing to professional, awesome dudes (ie. Hyung Tae Kim etc.). such a dumb dumb.. anyway, i got over it and am satisfied with how it came out.. it’s supposed to have more defined outlines (again for embossing), but it looked yuk.

i never got an answer to whether it was ok to post this up or not, but considering i did it pro bono… well… fug it.
